FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Welcome to CHIJ Katong Convent. KC was established in 1930 by the Infant Jesus Sisters based on the philosophy and teachings of our founder, Blessed Nicolas Barre. In KC, we are committed to providing a well-balanced IJ brand of education for girls that is anchored on values and developing the whole person. Besides a strong emphasis on intellectual, aesthetics and physical development, character formation through service learning are hallmarks of a KC Education.

Guided by the IJ Values of truth, justice, freedom and love and the IJ Motto ‘Simple in Virtue, Steadfast in Duty’, we provide a caring and nurturing environment to enable each child entrusted to us to grow according to her own unique giftedness. Our vision ‘A Caring School that Excels’ guides staff and students to strive for excellence in all that we do, value-adding to academic potential, inculcating strong moral values and nurturing all-round confident and gracious young ladies with integrity, hearts of compassion and a strong sense of duty and social responsibility so that they will give their best for others, and be people of value to their community.
