Direct School Admission (DSA) into CHIJ Katong Convent

CHIJ Katong Convent (KC) welcomes students currently studying in Primary 6 to apply for admission into KC in 2022 via the Direct School Admission (DSA) Exercise.

We are looking for girls with special talents who will contribute to the dynamic and vibrant community at KC.

You are eligible to apply if you have special talent or ability in:

  1. Performing Arts; or
  2. Sports and Games; or
  3. Language and Humanities; or
  4. Visual Arts, Design and Media

In view of the COVID-19 situation, to ensure the safety of the DSA applicants, MOE is reviewing the selection process for the 2021 DSA-Sec. More details will be updated on our website by early-June.

1 Instructions on e-portfolio submission for Visual Arts:

  • These should be a collection of well curated works done by the applicant that would display their progress, ability and creativity in visual art over the last 2-3 years (2019 - 2021). Applicants can also include any other items they deem relevant to the success of their application.
  • Can be in PowerPoint or PDF format with the following file-naming convention:
    Student’s Current School Name _Student’s Name _Visual Arts
  • Email the file (<20MB) to chijktcs@moe.edu.sg
  • Please note: E-portfolios submitted will only be used for DSA selection purpose and will be deleted after selection is completed

Note: Meeting all the criteria does not guarantee the student will be shortlisted/given an offer.

Application Procedure

Application for DSA-Sec can be submitted through the online DSA-Sec Portal. The application is free-of-charge and will be open from 5 May 2021, 11 am to 1 June 2021, 3pm. For more details, please refer to MOE website – www.moe.gov.sg/dsa-sec.

Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.

Applicants are to note that:

Successful DSA-Sec candidates are NOT allowed to participate in the Secondary One posting exercise to opt for secondary schools; and are also NOT allowed to transfer to another school after the release of the PSLE results. They are expected to honour the commitment to the posted DSA school for the duration of the programme admitted to.

CHIJ KC reserves the right not to release the results and reasons for non-selection. Do note that all documents submitted in connection with the application are non-returnable.
